Counselling and Therapy in Drumduff, Omagh, and Online

Hello I'm Shirley, a compassion-focused therapist dedicated to helping people navigate life's challenges. With years of experience in counselling through the Mid Ulster Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy and Cruse Bereavement, I specialise in providing a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions, gain clarity, and develop the tools to navigate life's challenges. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, addiction, or self-confidence, I’m here to support you. Sessions are available in Drumduff, Omagh, and online.

Alongside my work as a counsellor, I’m also a writer and poet. For those who find comfort in creative expression, I offer the option to incorporate poetry and journaling into therapy, providing an alternative way to process thoughts and emotions. However, this is entirely optional—each session is shaped around what works best for you.

Every journey is unique, and I believe in tailoring my approach to meet your needs with empathy, respect, and care. Whether through traditional talk therapy or creative exploration, I’m here to guide and support you in taking the next steps toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Writing can be a powerful tool for self-discovery, but it’s entirely optional—sessions are always designed around what feels right for you.

What Is Compassion-Focused Counselling & How Can It Help

A Safe and Supportive Space

Compassion-focused counselling provides a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours without fear of judgment. It helps you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, fostering self-acceptance and emotional resilience.

Guiding You to Find Your Own Solutions

As a counsellor, my role is not to give advice or tell you what to do but to support you in finding your own path forward. Whether you need to navigate difficult emotions, build coping strategies, or make meaningful life changes, counselling can help you develop the tools to move forward with confidence.

What to Expect in Sessions

Sessions typically last around 50 minutes and are tailored to your individual needs. The number of sessions and frequency will be discussed and agreed upon together, ensuring a pace that works for you.

Understanding, Not Judging

Compassion-focused therapy encourages kindness toward yourself, especially when dealing with self-criticism, anxiety, grief, or low self-esteem. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can speak openly and be heard with empathy and respect.

"Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.

Without them, humanity cannot survive."
